Dear all,

I use the FLIRThermalImage:getValue API to get the temperature at the center of the image.

- (void) imageReceived {
dispatch_async(dispatch_get_main_queue(), ^{
[self->camera withImage:^(FLIRThermalImage *image) {
image.Palette = image.PaletteManager.iron;
[image setTemperatureUnit:CELSIUS];
self->imageview.image = [image getImage];
double temp = [image getValueAt:CGPointMake([image getWidth]/2, [image getHeight]/2)];
self.tempLabel.text = [NSString stringWithFormat:@"%f", temp];
}];
});
}

But it’s a negative value.

Compare to the FLIR One app from Apple Store at same position.

Did I miss something?

Dear Gavin,
Thanks for your reply!

I found that sometimes it’s normal with positive value.(maybe restart the device.)
But the temperature is still higher than FLIR One App’s at same position.

Do you know why?

Hi Chen,

The technical support team just got back to me. This is a known issue in the API and should be fixed in the upcoming version of the FLIR Mobile SDK.

Apologies,
Gavin

Dear Gavin,
Which one is the known issue? The negative problem or the temperature value from SDK higher than the FLIR One App’s

Thanks!

We have the same issue with Flir one pro and SDK(thermal-sdk-ios-objc-1.0.5). It does not give accurate results with getValue function comparing to Flir one app. Sometimes it gives higher values like 3-4 degrees in celcius sometimes it gives the same value.

Is this an issue in the Android SDK too? I’m seeing lower than expected values from getValues(rect). Can you please update us, the whole point of this SDK is to get the temperature data.

Hi all,

If this issue is still occurring I will escalate it again to our technical support team. We want to make sure the SDK has no issues and appreciate your time in reporting them here. Hopefully we can get this resolved shortly.

Thanks so much,
Gavin

Hi ut,

Try subtracting 273 from the values. They are in Kelvin.
